At our September 16th meeting Claire Schmieler, a volunteer with the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice of Western Pennsylvania, will offer a program on personal interviewing to gather the personal history and story of a person's life.

PRIOR TO EACH MEETING

Prior to be “official” start of each meeting, beginning at 6:45, we are now holding an informal session where those present can toss out questions to the collective group. This is proving to be an excellent way to find new ideas for breaking through those “brick walls” that pop up in our research efforts.

ABOUT  THE  NORTH  HILLS GENEALOGISTS

The North Hills Genealogists is a group of people interested in genealogy and in researching their family histories. Located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania our members have common interests in the geographic areas north of the city. Many of the our members also live in that area.

FALL GENEALOGY CONFERENCE

North Hills Genealogists is sponsoring a Fall 2008 Genealogy Conference, to be held on October 25th. This all-day conference will feature nationally recognized genealogy speakers, who will lecture as well as conduct small-group discussions.

Pamela K Boyer, CG, CGL, will speak on “Dos and Dont’s for Your Research” and “Our National Treasure: The Library of Congress.” J. Mark Lowe, CG, will speak on “Make Those Early Census Records Talk to You” and “Out on a Limb: Trapped By Bad Research.”
